Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar is an American and British sitar artist. She was also the very first and youngest female to receive the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka is a emerging star of Indian sitar. She is a student as well as daughter to Ravi Shankar. Born in 1982, she was raised in London. The first few years of her life were spent in London in London and New Delhi. The first time she performed was at New Delhi when she was only 13 years old. When she moved to Encinitas CA in 1999 she received the high-school certificate. Anouskha still has a promising career in recording and performing even though she's young. She performs regularly together with her dad, and has been doing so for a long time years. The singer has released Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy award-winning album Live at Carnegie Hall. She has appeared at many major venues around the globe. The career of Anoushka doesn't only involve music. In 2002, she wrote an autobiography titled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is an illustrated biography that is a tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as the role of a Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka Shankar's work continues to develop and we are likely to see many things from her in years to be. Anoushka was born in England and spent a lot of her childhood between London as well as Delhi. Then she moved to California and attended high school. At the age of nine, she began studying music under her father making her performing debut with the sitar 4 years later during his birthday party in Delhi. Anoushka has gained lots of experience touring across the globe along with the father. She played at Carnegie Hall in her teenage years, and recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. As a tribute to her status as one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
